Royal Black Diamond Shah Khan
I’ve known Mr Shah Khan since joining the MonaVie business 4 months ago. He is a sincere, simple and down to earth person. He does not show off his fortunes or flash off his luxury cars to attract people into the business. Build Your Own Pipeline
The Royal Black Diamond, Mr Shah Khan always recommend his business partners to read Burke Hedges’ The Parable of the Pipeline. He wants all of us to understand the concept behind the People’s franchise and the main reason we are in this business.
In the beginning of his book, Hedges reflects on his late father’s words of wisdom. How his father would lecture him on the importance of having his own business. His father strongly believed that the more businesses you have, the better it is because “your pipelines are your lifelines.” Here is Hedges’ famous parable that has changed the lives of millions…
Once upon a time, in a small Italian village, lived two ambitious young men named Pablo and Bruno. They talked endless about their dream of becoming the richest man in the village. They were both bright and hardworking. All they needed was an opportunity. One day, that opportunity came. The village decided to hire two men to carry water from a nearby river to a cistern in the town square. The job went to Bruno and Pablo.
Next day, for the whole day, the two men carried buckets of water between river and the cistern. By the end of the day, the cistern was full and they were paid one penny for each bucket they carried. Bruno was elated at his good fortune and began listing everything he planned to do with his money. Pablo, however, dreaded going to work the next day, as his back was aching and his hands were blistered. “There has to be another way to do this,” he thought, determined to find one.
“Bruno, I have a plan,” he said as they prepared to start work the next day. “Instead of lugging buckets back and forth for pennies a day, let’s build a pipeline from the river to the village.”
Bruno stared at his best friend, then roared with laughter. “A pipeline,” he gasped, “Who ever heard of such a thing? We have a great job! We can earn at least 100 pennies a week. Think of all the things we could buy. Forget about your stupid pipeline!”
But Pablo believed in his dream and began working on it. He worked part of the day carrying buckets and the other part of the day and weekends building his pipeline. He knew it would be hard work digging a ditch in rocky soil. He knew that his income would initially drop because he wasn’t carrying as many buckets as before. He also knew that it would take at least two years before his pipeline would start to pay big dividends. Yet, he continued with his plan.
Bruno and the rest of the village ridiculed him. Bruno, who was earning twice as much as Pablo, flaunted his wealth. And while Bruno lazed around, Pablo steadily dug his pipeline. Days turned into months and one day the pipeline was completed.
The villagers crowded around and cheered as the water gushed from the pipeline into the village cistern. This abundant water supply attracted people from the surrounding countryside and soon, the village prospered. Now, pablo didn’t have to carry buckets anymore. The water flowed whether he worked or not. The more water that flowed into the cistern, the more money flowed into Pablo’s pocket. He wouldn’t have to work for the rest of his life. The pipeline put Bruno out of business and it saddened Pablo to see his best friend penniless. So one day Pablo approached him with an offer.
“I have learnt so much in building my pipeline,” Pablo said. “I could build another in half the time by myself, but that wouldn’t make the best use of my time. What I plan to do is to teach you and others how to build a pipeline… then you can teach others… and have each of them teach others… until there is a pipeline to every village in the region… then one to every village in the country… and eventually every village in the world!”
“We could make a small percentage of every gallon of water that goes through these pipelines’” he continued. “The more water that floes into the pipeline, the more money flows into our pockets. Whether we work or not. This is just the beginning!”
Years passed. Pablo and Bruno retired as millionaires. And still money flowed into their bank accounts. Sometimes on their trips through the countryside, they would pass young men carrying water buckets. They would stop these men, tell them their story and offer to help them build a pipeline. A few would immediately agree, but most would dismiss the idea saying either the followings:
“I don’t have the time.”
“I heard of a friend who tried to build one, but failed. It just doesn’t work.”
“Only those who get in early make the money.”
“I’ve carried buckets all my life. I’ll stick to what I know.”
“I know of people who have lost money in a pipeline scam. No, thank you.”
I saddened Pablo and Bruno that so many people lacked vision. Both men realised that they lived in a bucket-carrying world and that only a small percentage of people dared to dream pipeline dreams.

Dallin Larson and Acai berry
I was really motivated listening to Dallin Larson speech during the Monavie 1 year Anniversary celebration in Malaysia at the Bukit Jalil Putra stadium yesterday (April 30, 2011). His vision, commitment and dedication towards MonaVie are extraordinary. Dallin Larson, who is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Monavie, told all of us that we are going from success to significant.
Dallin Larsen grew up in the small farm community of Rexburg, Idaho, and his parents instilled a strong work ethic in their 10 children. When Larsen was named Ernst & Young’s national 2009 Entrepreneur of the Year, he gave his mom and dad credit. “Thanks for the lessons, teaching me how to roll up my sleeves and go sell the zucchini and don’t come home until it’s sold. Those are old-fashioned values.”
He got his first taste of network marketing in the 1980s when he became a distributor for a company where a friend worked. Larsen wasn’t exactly a star salesman back then, but the business model fascinated him. He later met the founder of USANA, a direct-seller of nutritional products.
